After three solo CDs and a duet album with his grandfather, Ben Waites is already considered to be an accomplished singer. In spite of his severe physical limitations, he has performed at various churches, conferences, banquets, conventions, and other venues since 2001.
Ben is presently enrolled at Louisiana College, a private Baptist college, earning a B. A. Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies. Attending this liberal arts college has given Ben many opportunities to perform in front of numerous types of audiences. He has performed for several dignitaries including former First Lady Barbara Bush.
Ben’s musical roots date back to his grandfather’s willingness to instruct him in proper vocal etiquette. In 2000, Ben received the calling to begin a musical ministry and started traveling with the Pine Ridge Quartet in which his grandfather is the Baritone in the group. For seven years Ben traveled with this group while performing solo concerts on the side.
Ben began formal training in 2003 with World Renown Vocal Coach, Chris Beatty in Nashville Tennessee. He has attended Ben Speer’s Stamps-Baxter School of Music in Nashville since 2005. There he has studied under Gaither Homecoming artist, Allison Durham Speer, and retired college professor, Glenn Wilson. Ben continues to study under them as well as Dr. Fred Guilbert at Louisiana College.
Since the beginning, Gospel music has been the only style for Ben. He has dedicated his life to serving God and His people through a music ministry. Ben’s only desire is to share the Good News to as many people as he possibly can.
